At least Ruben released the new nextGen with my widget. Unfortunately the official release contains some bugs, so I’ve made some changes (bugfix, and new functions as well) and I’ve send the new (0.95b) vesion to Ruben (I have to change some style in the CSS so he has to release a new version…)
BUT if you couldn’t wait for the official release, just drop me an email, and I send to you the new version!

Finally I finished the bugfixing of the <div> error in ie7 and ff2! Now the widget works sweet, and there is a new function: You could select recent images or random images to your widget! So it’s going smarter and smarter

I already commented at the official support forum of nggallery. It would be nice if the Widget wouldn’t add the h2 tag at all if you leave the name of the Widget blank. I don’t like having a dotted border under empty html tags (You should have the same problem here).

I have a great news. I’ve just spoken with Ruben, and he will release the new Plugin with the new widget today!
There will be a lots of bugfixes, and new functions for example:
- Recent Image widget
- Flash Slideshow widget
- “div style=”clear:both” bugfix
- li and ul style changed to div (for ff2 and ie7 bug)
So you could download the latest release from alex’s blog.

Mike: at first you need a theme which is sidebar compatible. If your theme is not compatible (Not support) sidebar, you have to download the latest version of the widget. There is 2 funtions, which are able to display random images anywhere you want.
